KAPUSO artists Maey Bautista and Betong Sumaya are both prepared to make "I Heart Davao" more exciting, as they commit to bring out their most funny side when portraying their roles.
Bautista and Sumaya play best friends with the characters of real-and-real life sweethearts Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez, respectively. Abellana and Rodriguez topbill the highly-anticipated soap from the Kapuso Network.
"Napakagandang privilege na maging best friend ng isang Carla Abellana," Bautista said, adding that acting side-by-side with the actress gives her the chance as well to know her better.
She shared that the lead actress of "I Heart Davao" remained humble despite her popularity these days.
Meanwhile, the funny love team of Bautista and Sumaya is another reason to expect an exciting show.
They even joked that their love scene is "kaabang-abang."
In the meantime, the upcoming teleserye of GMA Network will not just be a regular soap, as it is set to show off what the bustling center of Davao Region has to offer.
The teleserye will be showcasing a lot of things about Davao City, from its gastronomic offerings to tourist destinations.
In an interview with the cast in mid-May while they were here to shoot majority of their scenes for the soap, both the 30-year-old daughter of PJ Abellana and 29-year-old actor gladly shared that apart from being a romance-comedy show, “I Heart Davao” is actually a travelogue as well.
With the fact that 80 percent of the 40 episodes of the upcoming teleserye is done in the city, it is definitely expected that acclaimed director Marlon Rivera will feature a lot of things that are “tatak” Davao.
In the series, Rodriguez portrays the role of Ponce, a Dabawneyo whose family owns a vast cacao farm in the city, while Abellana is his love interest who is suffering from a heart ailment.
"I Heart Davao" will start airing this June on the GMA Telebabad block.
