Capitol to offer free ride on June 5-6

THE Iloilo Provincial Government will offer a free ride to its employees who will be affected by the transport strike on June 5 to 6 in Iloilo City.

“It will be business as usual. There is no transport holiday. Employees have to report to their offices,” stressed Governor Arthur Defensor Sr.

In order not to disrupt their daily operations, the governor has recalled all of its vehicles effective Friday and cancelled all travel orders during the strike as contingency measure.

Defensor ordered that these vehicles must be put on standby in designated areas to serve its employees and for any other emergency transportation needs.

The vehicles of the Provincial Engineer’s Office and the General Services Office will be used to transport or pick-up employees who will report for duty.

The designated pick-up points and assigned service vehicle that will operate from 7 to 7:30 a.m. are the following:

*Guimbal Plaza – PEO Service Vehicle No. 16

*Janiuay Plaza – PEO Service Vehicle No. 17

*Maasin Plaza – PEO Service Vehicle No. 18

*Mina Plaza – PEO Service Vehicle No. 19

*Alimodian/San Miguel Plaza – PEO Service Vehicle No. 20

*Pototan Plaza – PEO Service Vehicle No. 22

Vans will also be used to pick-up employees from Pavia People’s Terminal in Ungka, Tikod Terminal in Baldoza, Oton Plaza, Mohon Terminal, Guimbal Plaza, and Savanna Iloilo.

An assistance desk manned by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office will activated to respond to stranded employees.

In case of emergency, the employees can contact engineer Argel Alasian of the General Services Office at 09185586561 or 509-5062. (Jezza Nepomoceno)
