Capitol to investigate district hospital chief

A COMPLAINT was filed against the suspended head of the Minglanilla District Hospital after a hit-and-run victim died allegedly due to the refusal of the ambulance driver to bring the patient to the hospital.

Cebu Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Orvi Ortega said that the complaint against Dr. Bella Villaganas was filed before the Provincial Government’s committee on discipline and investigation.

The complaint was based on the result of the investigation by the grievance committee of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) against Villaganas.

Ortega refused to disclose, though, the recommendations made by the PHO.

Ortega said they will summon Villaganas in a preliminary conference so she can answer the accusations against her.

Villaganas was placed under preventive suspension since last month.

She was accused of issuing a memorandum that their ambulances can only be used for hospital-to-hospital transportation.
