Engineer probed for alleged anomalies

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon said yesterday that Engineer Leo Galvez of the Provincial Engineer’s Office will be subjected to an investigation for alleged anomalies.

“The Provincial Legal Office will investigate him based on the complaint of a supplier that he allegedly kept some supplies,” the governor said.

Galvez was reportedly the one behind the complaint filed against Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa for allegedly having unexplained wealth.

Mapa denied the allegation and challenged Galvez to prove his allegations.

Marañon added that if the allegations against Mapa could be substantiated, he will also be investigated.

The complaint against Mapa was forwarded by the Task Force Crusaders to the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas.

For his part, Galvez said that he will consult his lawyer and will issue a statement once he receives a copy of the complaint from the Provincial Legal Office. (TDE)
