BTAO urged to assign traffic enforcers in pedestrian lanes

THE Bacolod City Council approved a resolution requesting the Bacolod Traffic Management Office through the Office of the Mayor to assign traffic enforcers in pedestrian lanes, especially at the downtown area.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito, was approved during the regular session on Wednesday, May 31.

Distrito said it is the policy of the city government to provide ease of access in all roads and provide comfort and convenience to all road users.

He said the streets can no longer accommodate the increasing number of people and vehicles which resulted to frequent traffic congestions.

“To assist the people and vehicles in passing the streets, traffic enforcers should be assigned in all pedestrian lanes to guide the people in crossing the street and signal vehicles to stop while they are passing,” Distrito added.

He said the presence of the traffic enforcers will lessen the difficulty of the people and vehicles in passing the street and they could have fast access. (MAP)
