It's back to school

SUMMER vacation has already ended, some students are now very excited to go back to school; to meet again their hangout buddies and their second brothers and sisters, their classmates. Many parents and bread winners are now thinking how to budget the available funds to provide the school supplies every students need most.

At this time where school supplies and needs are also considered as major expenses, prices are always increasing annually every class opening aside from the tuition fees. Majority of the parents are always scrutinizing every ways to maximize the budget they have allocated. Here are some of my tips on how to be a wise and “tipid” buyer of school supplies.

You can actually buy school supplies anytime of the year. A friend of mine buy school supplies every July after the opening of the class, aside to avoid the crowed, sale and bargain items are always present. Also it’s ideal to buy the school supplies after the closing of classes, like month of March and April, you can buy the newly released items and you can avoid the panic buying. Like tuition fees, some of the schools offer big discount for those who will pay early or in advance.

As mentioned above, panic buying due to limited time is also one of the factors that the expenses allocated shoot up as unexpectedly. The chances are you get to buy the items double the price and it is impractical due to pressure. This is actually always present if you buy the needs a week before the opening of the classes.

Buy the school supplies by bulk, bundle or promo packs like ballpens, pencils, papers, art materials and etc. If you have lots of family members that will be going to school, you can actually save.

Most of the students demand to have a new school supplies and parents can hardly refuse on it. Make them realized that the money available has a limitation. You can set a limited budget and let them have the task to maximize the set budget for only the practical supplies needed. Let them be responsible as early their age, avoid the habit of let them freely choose the item they want.

Most parents want the best for their children when it comes to their needs, but it’s not also easy to afford. Our best talent as Filipinos is we can always think for innovative and practical ways to still come up to provide quality things without suffering our pockets. Things also to consider which is very important is to save and be prepared always. Sometimes we Filipinos are very good in preparing things when it’s already near the deadline. We can always avoid that and save more money.
