16th Fil-Chi Friendship Day to include gift sharing, MOA signing

A GIFT sharing activity will highlight this year’s 16th Philippine-China Friendship Day Celebration at the Botanical Garden, Leonard Wood Road at 10 a.m., June 9.

Wang Jianqun, Consul and Head of Post Consulate of the People’s Republic of China, is set to be the guest of honor and speaker.

Aimed at promoting friendship among the Filipino and Chinese communities, the event is spearheaded by the City Government and Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community (BFCC) in cooperation with the City Social Welfare and Development and environment and parks management offices.

Mayor Mauricio Domogan and Congressman Mark Go will deliver inspirational messages while the event’s chairman, Peter Ng, will give the welcome remarks.

Jianqun and Domogan will lead city officials and officers of the BFCC executive committee in the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arc Garden while lawyer Cristeta Leung, program chairman and overall coordinator, will talk on its significance.

A memorandum of agreement will also be signed between the City Government and the BFCC.

A gift sharing will ensue led by the mayor assisted by the BFCC executive committee to the city’s Persons with Substance Use Disorder. Words of gratitude will then be given by a PSUD representative.

BFCC executive committee member Thomas Kho will deliver the closing remarks to end the activity. (PR)
