Indian, 3 others arrested in Cordillera drug bust

FOUR drug personalities, including an Indian national, were arrested over the week following the intensified anti-drug campaign of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cordillera together with local police.

Akiya Lugarez Velasco alias Aki, 20, and Christ John Marisga Quitoriano alias Katiting, 24, both residents of the Pinsao Pilot Barangay and watch-listed members of a local drug group, were arrested together with Kimberly Dalusong Felix alias Kim, when they sold a plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” with a street value of P17,000 to a PDEA-Cordillera undercover agent.

The drug bust money was confiscated from the suspects upon their arrest.

After a few hours, an Indian national fell in a sting operation at Padre Zamora.

Kumar Lakhvir, a resident of San Luis was arrested for selling two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu to an anti-narcotics poseur-buyer.

Confiscated from the suspect were drug bust money and a mobile phone.

The suspects are now detained at the Baguio City Jail and will be charged with violation of Republic Act Number 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Roderick Osis)
