HOUSE Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez designated first district Representative Celso Lobregat to “bridge the gap” between the between the house leadership and the law enforcement agencies in Zamboanga Peninsula (Western Mindanao).

Lobregat on Monday said his designation as conduit is to facilitate the needs of the military and police and coordinate with the house leadership for appropriate actions amid the volatile peace and order situation in the region.

He said it is to facilitate the immediate needs of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) and Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula through appropriations of funds in support to their anti-terrorism campaign.

Lobregat said he already met with Lieutenant General Carlito Galvez Jr., Wesmincom chief and Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, PRO director.

He said that the letters and recommendations of the two commanders was already transmitted by him personally to Alvarez before the Congress adjournment last week.

The solon said the house leadership can help the law enforcers here in the region in appropriation measures and “using this to determine and procure equipment the military and police needs in the field.” (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
