MEXICO, Pampanga -- The remains of Elizabeth Gonzales, wife of Pampanga Representative Aurelio Gonzales, Jr., will be laid to rest at the latter's family-owned crypt at the Anao Public Cemetery in Anao village here.
The congressman's staff said that there will be a neurological service before the interment to be led by Pampanga clergy.
The Gonzales and Panlilio families expressed their gratitude to all who condoled with the family during their time of grieving.
The families also expressed hope that the investigation on the recent Resorts World attack will bring justice and resolution to all those affected.
Representative Gonzales is expected to make a formal statement in due time as the family would like to observe proper mourning for Elizabeth before any personal statement.
Elizabeth, 57, is among the 37 people who died in the attack at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on Friday, June 2.
Friends of Elizabeth posted messages of grief and condolences on Elizabeth's page as well as on the Facebook account of her husband.
Staff and former employees of the Gonzales family described Elizabeth as a soft spoken and kind person who always stood behind her husband's political career.
Earlier on Sunday, President Duterte condoled with Representative Gonzales over his wife’s death, after visiting wounded soldiers in Cagayan de Oro City.
