Port operator aids fishers

FISHERMEN in San Fernando town, Cebu will soon acquire four new motorized banca they could use for their daily livelihood.

This came after the Solid Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) donated P100,000 to Panadtaran Fisherfolks Association (PFA) through the coffers of Barangay Panadtaran.

Barangay Captain Ricardo Y. Reluya initiated the project to support the livelihood of PFA members Rogelio G. Basco leads and presented the proposal to SEDC for collaboration.

Recently, SEDC human resources and administration division manager Mitzie Almira I. Carin turned over the assistance with community relations officer Gines T. Boltron.

The company supported the project under its Social Development Management Program (SDMP).

SEDC operates a port with 10 berthing spaces in San Fernando that it uses to ship out Grand Cement products manufactured by its customer, Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI), to various ports nationwide.
