Veterans Bank highlights WWII history, memorabilia

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Veterans Bank here hopes to project a new image as it sports a new look and highlights World War II memorabilia and its history in Pampanga.

The newly renovated Veterans Bank opened its doors the other day with guests from the City Government of San Fernando and Provincial Government of Pampanga.

Board Members Fritzie Dizon and Cherry Manalo represented Governor Lilia Pineda in the event attended by Philippine Veterans Bank president Nonilo Cruz, Senior Vice President Vilma Noche and Vice President Mike Villa Real among others.

The centerpiece of the renovated branch is its World War II History Wall. These are four panels that tell the story of World War II in the Philippines with several of the panels dedicated to local WWII events that have happened in Pampanga.

The branch also has two display cases that contain artifacts, paraphernalia and memorabilia from the war which combined with the history wall, make a visit to the branch almost like a trip to the museum.

The history wall also has a panel with a display monitor that continuously screens WWII documentaries and photos.

Cruz said that the new image serves as to present the Veterans Bank with a new image and assert is position in the community of banks in country.

He added that they have done renovations of other similar branches in the country.

Philippine Veterans Bank, also known as PVB and Veterans Bank, is a commercial bank in the Philippines. The bank is owned by Philippine World War II war veterans and their families and caters to both corporate and retail financial markets. As part of its charter, PVB allocates 20 percent of its annual net income for the benefit of its shareholders.
