Woman dies after sheilding son from gunman

A 56-YEAR-OLD woman died after she tried to save her son from a gunman in Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Corte, Carmen. Maria Belen Capute Monsanto succumbed to a gunshot wound in the body when she attempted to cover her son Ricardo, 23, who was attacked at 9 p.m. last Friday. Ricardo was the main target of the culprit. He was hit in the right thigh. Ricardo survived. His aunt Silvestra Capute, 76, was hit in the right knee.
