MOTORCYCLE-riding tandem gunmen shot and wounded a policeman in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday.
Inspector Dahlan Samuddin, Police Regional Office (PRO) Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the victim as Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4) Samson Samonte of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Samuddin said the victim was shot around 5 a.m. Monday in the village of Poblacion, Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Investigation showed the victim was on his routine exercise when shot by one of two men riding tandem in a motorcycle, according to Samuddin.
The victim was admitted at the provincial hospital while investigation continues aimed to unmask the identities of the suspects, he said.
