THE Cebu City Marriott Hotel launched yesterday a meeting service application designed to allow meeting planners to request, respond and connect in real time with the hotel’s event coordinators.
Called the Red Coat Direct, the web-based service allows planners to continually make and adjust meeting requests without having to leave the room or even being on the property. A planner can send a message to the hotel’s event department prior to arrival, change a room requirement or check-in packages from this application regardless of location.
Patrick Carroll, the hotel’s general manager, said the meeting service application hopes to strengthen the communication between hotels and the planners and at the same time improve the hotel’s service, especially for the booming meetings, incentive, conventions and exhibition (Mice) market.
Event organizer Dolly Bello said this service application is a huge help for meeting organizers, especially if they get last minute changes from their clients.
“This makes our work a lot easier,” she said.
Red Coat Direct App is available for use on all web-enabled services. The link of the app is sent by the hotel to the event planners three days before the event begins. They can use it to edit their meeting requests and preferences just before the event or while on site, such as a request to adjust room temperature or additional meal orders, among others.
The tech-based meeting application is also available in 20 languages.
In a day, Cebu City Marriott Hotel handles three to four events from small to big, according to Nico Ivan Velasquez, the hotel’s PR officer.
“The application will help us make sure we won’t miss any requests from our clients,” he said.
The hotel has appointed three red coat personnel--head waiters tasked to receive the requests made over the app and relay instructions to the staff assigned to the event.
