Another NCCC mall to rise in Buhangin

HOMEGROWN retail company, New City Commercial Corp. (NCCC), is set to establish another shopping mall in Davao City next year, said Sharlene Lim, president of NCCC Mall of Davao.

In an interview at the sidelines of the 2015 Kalayaan Job Fair last June 12, Lim said that the company is investing multi-million peso for the project which will be located in the northern part of the city in Buhangin District.

"We already have a property in Buhangin and we are planning to expand there. Yes we will invest in another mall," she said, revealing one of the company's plans for next year. She refused to provide figures.

Lim also said the mall will be designed by Asya Design, a Manila-based architectural firm. The mall is also set to introduce another mall concept that will be a new experience for Dabawenyos.

"We got Asya Design, the one who designed SM Mall of Asia and City of Dreams. We are very much excited about it," she said "It's gonna be an iconic building and a unique mall, it's about time to bring (modern design) to Davao," she said.

The mall will break grounds in the first quarter of 2016 and is targeted to be completed by the end of the same year.

"Dabawenyos are very supportive with the NCCC and we are very much happy to be part of the economic development of the city. We'll surely continue to invest and do business in Davao," she said.

NCCC will also continue to expand its convenience stores, the HB1 and Choice Mart in the the city.
