7 hurt in Davao fire; P35-M worth of properties destroyed

SEVEN individuals were injured, while P35 million worth of properties were destroyed, after a fire broke out in an agri-industrial company on Monday, June 12 at Kilometer 9, Pampanga village in Davao City.

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Davao City Fire and Arson Investigator Senior Fire Officer 4 (SFO4) Ramil Gillado said the fire started at 5:25 p.m. at Sagrex Corporation, an exporting food processing company.

Four other business establishments namely Ace Promotion, Motolite Corporation, KFC, and Sakugara were also hit by the fire. No fatality was recorded.

The injured were identified as FO2 Bryan Sarda, FO1 Jushua Neri, both responding officers; Samson Gonzales, Samuel Castro, Guellmar Saging, Ronald Salbo, and Genny Boy Delapisa. They suffered first and second degree burns.

A 2,000 liter LPG tank also exploded around 6:30 p.m.

The fire was declared under control at 7:21 p.m. and was put out at 11:15 p.m.

The fire bureau is still conducting further investigation to identify the cause of the incident.
