BIR exec shot dead in QC

MOTORCYCLE-riding suspects gunned down Wednesday morning a Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) official in Quezon City, police said.

Superintendent Igmedio Bernaldez, Quezon City Police District Station 2 chief, said Alberto Enriquez had just stepped out of his car near his office when the attacker approached him and shot him in the face.

The victim who served as the chief assessment officer of BIR District 38 in West Avenue, Quezon City, died on the spot.

The incident was recorded on security camera installed near the place.

Witnesses were unable to recognize the license plate of the motorcycle used by the suspects as they immediately flew to unknown direction.

Bernaldez said they are establishing if the killing of Enriquez is job-related. (SunStar Philippines)
