TO SUSTAIN the city’s image as a hall of famer in the national drive for the cleanest and greenest highly urbanized city, the search for the same is now open to all villages in Baguio City.
In his recent administrative order, Mayor Mauricio Domogan formed the panel of judges to implement the clean and green contest and at the same time setting the mechanics and criteria in the said search.
Julie Cabato will chair the judging committee with members Dominador Urbanozo of the General Services Office, City Health Officer Rowena Galpo, City Engineer Elpidio Garabiles, City Environment and Parks Management officer Cordelia Lacsamana, executive assistant Loreto Dolormente and information officer Aileen Refuerzo of the City Mayor’s Office.
The committee will conduct visitation and evaluation of all the 128 villages in the city with the ratings based on the overall cleanliness of the village, orderliness, greening and beatification, social participation/village ordinances, education and information campaign, waste management, additional points may be earned for livelihood components, presence of graffiti, village initiative and maintenance of public buildings/structures and drainage; the rating system will obtain one as the lowest rating and ten as the highest rating.
First prize winner will be receiving plaque and P50,000 cash incentive, second prize will receive plaque and P30,000 cash incentive, third prize will receive plaque and P20,000 cash incentive, five consolation prizes will receive certificate and P5,000 cash incentive each, and 12 villages will be given certificates of appreciation for their effort in the clean and green program.
Domogan stressed the dirtiest villages will also be named, thus, he reminded all village chiefs to monitor the waste management disposal in their respective villages.
Also, residents are expected to be responsible pet owners to sustain the cleanliness and orderliness of the environment. (PR)
