Another pusher nabbed, P250k marijuana seized

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao Region seized on Sunday P250,000 worth of marijuana and arrested a suspected drug pusher in a drug bust operation in Barangay Balasiao, Kiblawan town in Davao del Sur.

The suspect was identified as Alex Sekin, 40, of the nearby Barangay Bololsalo.

Operatives of PDEA Davao Region, led by its director Emerson R. Rosales, in coordination with Davao del Sur Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation (PAIDSOTF), and Kiblawan Municipal Police Station, arrested the suspect at around 4 p.m.

PDEA regional public information officer Noli Nephi D. Dimaandal said the suspect was placed under surveillance for the past months and has been considered as one of the top marijuana supplier in Davao del Sur.

"Dugay-dugay na gyud ang surveillance nato ani niya. Almost two months gayud. Pasalamat kaayo ta sa contribution sa atong mga civilian sa pag dakop aning mga dagko na pushers sa region (We have been closely monitoring the suspect for almost two months. We are also thankful for the participation of the citizens in the community for their help in apprehending big-time drug pushers in the region)," Dimaandal told Sun.Star Davao in a phone interview.

Suspect was arrested after he received the drug bust money from an operative who posed as a buyer.

Seized from the suspect's possession were six kilos of marijuana and marked money.

The suspect, who is temporarily detained at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Jail Facility, will be facing criminal charges for violation of section 5 of the Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Recovered drugs were submitted to PDEA Davao Region office for examination.(KRP)
