Arena-Davao inducts new officers

THE Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies (Arena) - Davao Region conferred the new batch of officers last Friday, June 16, at Seda Hotel, Davao City with the National Economic Development Authority (Neda)-Davao director Maria Lourdes Lim as the newest president.

Arena-Davao was organized since 1978 as an association composed of heads from regional offices of national government agencies in Davao City, bringing voluntary services to the people most especially in rural areas.

Leading the inauguration last Friday were Davao del Norte Governor Anthony del Rosario, Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy, Major General Noel Clement of the 10th Infantry Division, lawyer Raul Nadela of the Davao City Mayor's Office, Assistant Secretary Mariano Alquiza of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) and Captain Ronald Go, president of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCCI).

Also installed were Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Davao Regional Director Gary Martel as the new vice-president, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Davao Regional Director Fatima Idris as secretary and lawyer Javey Paul Francisco of Securities and Exchange Commission-Mindanao as treasurer.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Davao director Maria Belenda Ambi and Major General Rafael Valencia of the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) were inducted as business managers.

Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 11 regional director Efren Elbanbuena is the press relations officer.

Arena-Davao provides medical and dental missions, relief goods, delivery of social services, and dialogues with the people under the umbrella of National Union of Career Executive Service Officers whose participation is made up by undersecretaries, assistant secretaries, and directors of government national agencies.
