Detainee dies inside Consolacion police station

A 41-YEAR-OLD detainee of Consolacion Police Station died after he had difficulty breathing on Saturday morning, June 17.

Police identified the detainee as Ricardo Ceniza Semblante, who was facing an attempted murder case.

Investigation showed Semblante complained to his fellow detainee at 6:10 a.m. that he could not breathe and the latter called the attention of Police Officer 3 Nolberto Cejas, the duty jail officer.

An ambulance transported Semblante to Eversley Childs Sanitarium and General Hospital in Mandaue City, but he was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Monica Pagusara.

The detainee's family was advised to allow an autopsy on Semblante's body to determine the cause of his death. (SunStar Cebu)
