Cop arrests brother involved in drugs

A SUSPECTED drug pusher from Talisay City was arrested on Sunday evening, June 18, by his own brother, who is a police, after a warrant was issued against him.

Senior Police Officer 3 Nestor Canlobo, who is assigned at the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Public Safety Company, personally arrested his own brother, Christopher, after a warrant of arrest was issued against him by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 65 in Talisay City.

The warrant was signed by RTC Branch 65 presiding judge Glenda Go. No bail was recommended.

Canlobo, along with police officers in Talisay City, made the arrest at his brother’s house in Sitio Hawod, Barangay Bulacao, in the same city.

Last February, Christopher and his wife, Luz, were the subjects of a drug bust by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas.

While Luz was arrested for selling illegal drugs to anti-narcotics agents, Christopher was able to evade arrest.

But Christopher later surrendered to police 27 days after his wife was arrested.

In an interview, Christopher said he stopped selling illegal drugs after he surrendered to police last year.

Christopher was also happy that his own brother arrested him.

“Nalipay ko sir kay at least malimpyo ang pangan sa akong igsuon (I am happy, at least my brother’s name will be cleared),” Christopher told reporters on Monday, June 19.
