Davao del Norte historical exhibit set on June 23

AN EXHIBIT showcasing the history of Davao del Norte from the prehistoric times up to the present will be unveiled at the new Davao del Norte Pavilion on Friday, June 23.

A HISTORICAL exhibit of Davao del Norte’s prehistoric times up to the present is set on Friday, June 23, at the new Davao del Norte Pavilion.

The Davao del Norte Singkwenta Exhibit will be among the major events top billing the kick-off of the nine-day Kadagayaan Festival 2017 that highlights the 50th Araw ng Davao del Norte celebrations.

Audiences will have the opportunity to experience the different stages in the great events and the history of the province.

Provincial Administrator Samson Sanchez said the exhibit is designed to develop a good sense of history among the Dabaonon, which he said is very vital in understanding the province’s past and in shaping the future by applying the lessons learned from it.

Other events in the festival launch also include the Kadagayaan Agri-Aqua Fair and the One DavNor Tourism Fair, among others.

Strategically located within the compound of the Davao Sports and Tourism Complex, the P9-million provincial pavilion, was inaugurated last Friday to serve as site for official functions of the Provincial Government.

Governor Anthony del Rosario and Vice Governor Alan Dujali led the unveiling of the spanking DavNor Pavilion designed to accommodate up to 400 persons.

Also highlighting the event was the signing of the joint venture agreement between Davao del Norte and G Xchange Inc. for the establishment of the Alternative Government Collection, Disbursement and Citizens Identification System, which will allow the public to conduct cashless financial transactions with the provincial government using Globe’s GCash micro payment service.

The province also inked a memorandum of agreement with the Davao del Norte State College and the government employee-scholars who availed of the specialized diploma, bachelor and master’s degree courses offered by the Davao del Norte Learning Institute. (PR)
