More hired-on-the-spot in 25th Sulong jobs fair
ZAMBALES -- More Zambaleño job applicants were hired-on-the-spot during the jobs fair conducted in this province by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
Last June 12, during the 25th Sulong Zambales jobs fair held in front of Magic Mall in Sta. Cruz, Zambales, a total of 134 job applicants or equivalent to 46.5 percent of the total qualified jobseekers were hired-on-the-spot (HOTS). About 104 of the hired applicants will be deployed in local companies while 30 of them will be working overseas.
Vice Governor and Provincial PESO Manager Ramon Lacbain II said that through the series of jobs fair conducted in the province, many Zambaleños were being hired by local firms and licensed employment agencies.
"Even if Dole (Department of Labor and Employment) has increased the percentage of HOTS to be attained by every jobs fair conducted from 15 percent to 20 percent, we were able to surpass the new Dole standards and even doubled it in our last two jobs fair," said Lacbain.
Peso Zambales recorded a 43 percent HOTS in the 24th jobs fair at Masinloc during Labor Day and 46.5 percent in recent job fairs.
A total of 365 job applicants coming from different towns in Zambales joined the 25th Sulong jobs fair to submit their resumes and be interviewed and screened by the 23 participating local companies and licensed manpower agencies.
The local firms consisted of McDonald's Iba branch, Faith in God Recruitment, Placement & Manpower Services Corp., Nozomi Fortune Services Inc., MJMD Manpower Services, Janby Marketing Corp., MangInasal, Masarap Grill, Magic Mall Group of Company, AES Philippines – Masinloc, and Fibre Sorting.
On the other hand, those that offered overseas employment were Aquavir International Inc., France Asia International Inc., Arjoy's Human Resources Management Corp., RPR International Recruitment Agency Inc., Eastwest Placement Center Inc., Eureka Personnel Management Services Inc., Ample Laborpool Inc., Al-Batra Recruitment Agency, Sunway Int’l Manpower Services Inc., and Gold Icon Recruitment and Promotion.
The 24th Sulong Zambales jobs fair is an employment facilitation project of the Provincial Government of Zambales through its PESO headed by Lacbain, under the administration and full support of Governor Hermogenes E.
