Capitol extends more aid to Kapampangan OFW

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Provincial Government of Pampanga headed by Governor Lilia Pineda, through the Pampanga Action Center for Overseas Filipino Workers Concerns (PACOC), continues to help Kapampangan overseas Filipino worker Gabino Taruc regarding his medical condition.

Taruc, who was diagnosed with a heart problem when he was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after being confined for a week, will be given medical assistance by the Capitol, according to PACOC Head Maria Eliza Rey Muñoz.

"He will be brought to the Philippine Heart Center for a second opinion. Baka kasi magkaiba 'yung findings sa abroad tsaka dito," she said.

Taruc is scheduled to go to the Philippine Heart Center later this week upon the instructions of Pineda, said Muñoz.

"Ire-report namin kay Guv yung findings and then iwo-work out namin yung financial assistance din kung pwede," Muñoz added.

Taruc said he is very grateful for the assistance he is receiving after his depressing experience in Saudi Arabia.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa tuluy-tuloy na tulong ng gobyerno. Tamang-tama po ito dahil paubos na yung gamot na binigay sa akin ng ospital sa Saudi," Taruc said.

According to Taruc's sister Angelita, the OFW has been feeling severe weakness and palpitated earlier this week, possibly due to his heart condition.

On Tuesday, Taruc and M.M.M. International Placement Corporation, the agency responsible for Taruc's employment, met at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration to amicably settle his employment case.
