PFF hosts 2017 AFC ‘A’ coaching course

TWENTY-EIGHT coaches from the Philippines and abroad converged in Manila for the Philippine Football Federation-bankrolled AFC “A” Coaching Certificate Course from June 14-28.

The event, held in cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), has 24 Filipino coaches and four other foreign coaches from Australia, Belgium, Hong Kong, and Korea Republic undergoing the course handled by AFC instructors Jose Ariston Caslib and Marlon Maro.

Leading the Filipino coaches is Bacolod City-based coach Norman Fegidero, Jr. alongside Michael Jayson Agbayani, Ariel Marigen Alberto Ramon Besa, Ariston Bocalan, Ramonito Carreon, Noel Casilao, Randolfo Paolo Clarino, Oliver Colina, Rachelle delos Reyes, Bongbong Roxy Dorlas;

Eliezer Fabroada, Andres Crisanto Gonzales, Percy Guarin, Wilhelm Laranas, Joyce Landagan, Jeffrey Liman, Josephine Loren, Antonio Noel Mariscal, Ernest Thomas Nierras, Christopher Pedimonte, Tomasito Glenn Ramos, Christian Salanguit, and Eleazar Toledo.

The foreigners include Kenny Bastelues (Belgium), Jeongil Kim (Korea Republic), John Peter Tscheppera (Australia), and Chiu Tat Tsang, (Hongkong).

This AFC “A” Coaching Certificate Course is the first to be held in the Philippines under the new AFC Coaching Convention Guidelines which covers two parts of 14 days each.

In between courses, the participants are required to produce a log book containing their football work of at least 100 hours either in a Club, University Team, or Regional Team that is playing high level football.

The PFF also conducted the AFC “B” Coaching Certificate course last June 2-11 in Canlubang, Laguna, featuring former national team player and current Philippine Boys Under-15 head coach Emelio Caligdong. (HGD)
