San Fernando City mayor spends birthday with elderly, PWDs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mayor Edwin Santiago celebrated his 60th birthday on June 21 through a “Handog Pasasalamat” program for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the city.

The three-part activity started at Santiago’s birthplace in Barangay San Pedro Cutud where medical and dental missions were offered to the constituents.

Senior citizens in the said barangay received their free anti-pneumonia vaccines from the City Health Office.

Through the City Social Welfare and Development Office, gifts and food packs were distributed to some 400 elderly and PWDs in Cutud.

The city mayor also visited the neighboring barangays of Sta. Lucia and San Nicolas where gift giving ceremonies were conducted.

Santiago expressed his gratitude to all those who have supported him throughout his personal and political journey.

“Natutuwa ako na naipagdiwang ko ang aking kaarawan kasama ang mga taong malalapit sa puso ko. Ang araw na ito ay aking pasasalamat sa inyong lahat, ito ay araw niyo rin,” Santiago added.

Also present during the activity were his family, friends, city officials represented by councilors BJ Lagman and Harvey Quiwa and City Hall department heads. (PR)
