THE Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) said there were no negative feedbacks from the members of the business sector so far, days after it released the 30 guidelines for business owners to follow during Martial Law last June 2.
DCIPC head Lemuel Ortonio said most of the business proprietors in the city participated and followed the set protocols, aiding the security and welfare of the establishments and business people.
"The guidelines were only permissive and not mandatory but we are still happy that it was well-received by the business sector here in our city," Ortonio said.
Most of the business establishments in the city, Ortonio said, provided emergency plans as advised in the guidelines. He added that there were some establishment owners who reached to him to convey that they already oriented their security personnel as to the appropriate response on any threatening situations.
Meanwhile, Ortonio said several local and foreign business people have already began to set schedules of their arrival in the city starting last week of June and the coming months.
"There are even some who already arrived and continued their business agendas in the city despite Davao being put under martial law," he said.
Some postponed business conventions and meetings due to martial law, Ortonio said, have started to continue while some have already guaranteed to pursue it in the coming days.
Ortonio said DCIPC and the Department of Tourism hope for the resumption of investments and business activities in the city as soon as martial law ends and the security crisis in Mindanao subsides.
