A SUSPECTED courier of a drug group operating in Cebu City Cebu Province reportedly left behind a paper bag full of drugs in a bus liner terminal in Barangay Sambag 1 last Wednesday afternoon.
Atty. Maria Theresa Macatangay, chief of the Fuente Police Station, said the suspect escaped after the security guard found out about it. The stash was allegedly supposed to be delivered to Barili, Cebu.
At 2 p.m. the suspect, the identity of whom is withheld by police, approached the guard and showed a paper bag to be delivered to a certain Lola Gabina in Sitio Tayong, Barili at the waiting shed near a sari-sari store.
The guard tried to inspect the package but the alleged courier refused.
When the guard insisted, the courier revealed that the content was shabu. The suspect tried to bribe the guard to have the package onboard a bus to be dropped in Barili.
The guard held the suspect and tried to take him to the office of bus liner. But the suspect struggled and fled, leaving the bag and his motorcycle behind.
Police found hidden in the motorcycle shabu worth P371,700 as per Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) estimate.
The suspect is considered as a high-value drug target level 3.
A drug bust in Sitio Laguerte, Barangay Kalubihan also resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug pusher. He was identified as Efren “Gogo” Nacar, 41. Shab worth P118,000 was seized from him.
