PCG Cebu to build mobile detachment in Pasil Fish Port

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Cebu Station will construct a mobile detachment in Pasil Fish Port to regulate entry of contraband in Cebu City.

PCG Cebu substation commander Alejandro P. Pamot said that the mobile detachment will address concerns on environmental and marine protection, human and drug trafficking, maritime law enforcement and safety, as well as security.

Pamot visited the office of Councilor Dave Tumulak at the Cebu City Hall to discuss the project, as well as to ask for financial support from the City.

Tumulak, meanwhile, said that starting July 1 all motor bancas that will dock at the Pasil Fish Port will be registered. Failure to show registration and license will not be allowed to dock at the fish port, Tumulak said.

In a separate interview, Mayor Tomas Osmeña said that he is willing to support the project of the PCG, but they have to discuss the project to him first. Rigine Clyr L. Arraz, MSU Intern
