Coco Martin pays his respects to FPJ before filming 'Ang Panday'

COCO Martin paid his respects to the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. as he kicks off his new "Panday" project.

The Kapamilya actor visited the grave of the King of Philippine Movies on Thursday at the Manila North Cemetery to light candles at Poe's grave.

The "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" lead actor could also be seen saying a short prayer.

In a Facebook post by Biboy Arboleda, the actor's manager, he said Martin asked for guidance for his directorial job.

"Proud of my anak @mr.cocomartin. Dinalaw, nagpasalamat at humingi ng gabay sa dakilang FPJ sa isang tahimik na dasal. Bago tumungo sa unang araw ng shooting ng #AngPanday2017," Arboleda wrote.

Martin, on his part, uploaded an Instagram video of his visit.

He also shared a photo from his first shooting day where his real name, Rodel Nacianceno was identified as the director.

"Salamat po Lord sa lahat lahat po!" he wrote.
