4,000 Mabalacat residents get Philhealth cards

MABALACAT CITY --- The City Government has distributed Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) members data records (MDRs) to some 4,000 underprivileged residents of this city.

A total of P9.6-million was allocated by the City Council to fund this priority project for the members of the marginalized sector.

City Health Office (CHO) head Dr. Maria Clara Aquino and Multi-sectoral Alliance Head Gerry Dayrit led the distribution of the MDRs at the public covered courts of Dona Maria, Sapang Biabas, Duquit, Mamatitang, Mabiga and Madapdap recently.

“This project of the Mabalacat City Council entitles our beneficiaries especially the pregnant women to avail of free health services from our government hospitals here,” Dayrit said.

CHO personnel have oriented the recipients of the health benefits that they can avail.

Under the "Tamang Serbisyo para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya" Program (TSeKaP) of PhilHealth, card holders are entitled to avail free consultation, diagnostic and preventive services from the rural health units (RHUs) and hospitals in the city upon the recommendation of the RHU physician.

Free and quality medical services include complete blood count (CBC), routine urinalysis, fecalysis, fasting blood sugar, blood typing, sputum microscopy, pap smear, visual inspection with acetic acid, regular blood pressure measurements, breastfeeding program education, periodic clinical breast examinations, counseling for lifestyle modification, counseling for smoking cessation, body measurements, digital rectal examination, visual acuity examination, and psychological evaluation and debriefing.
