MAKATI City-based Kaya FC arrived Friday in Bacolod City to challenge Ceres Negros FC in the 2017 Philippines Football League at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at Panaad Park and Stadium.
Both are currently ranked fourth and fifth, with a one-all draw result in their last face-off at Kaya FC’s home turf in Makati.
While most of coaches Christopher Greatwich and Noel Marcaida-mentored players are new at the Panaad Stadium, some have once made the Ceres FC home turf their own.
Jayson Panhay alongside the Angeles twins Marvin and Marwin, and Jalsor Soriano, suited up for Ceres FC for two to three seasons before transferring to Kaya FC.
Janrick Soriano and Jovin Bedic who used to play with the West Negros University during their college days were once part of the Norman Fegidero’s Ceres Negros U23 team which won the 2011 Philippine Football Federation-Suzuki National U23 Cup.
Kaya FC skipper Alexander Borromeo and goalkeeper Ref Cuaresma are likewise familiar with the Panaad field making the pitch not a reason to worry about.
Also suiting up for Kaya are Zach Banzon, Ronilo Bayan, Kenshiro Daniels, CJ Elumba, Patrik Franksson, Eric Giganto, Audie Menzi, Anton Ugarte, Chy Villaseñor, Miguel Tanton, Julian Matthews, Adam Reed, Masanari Omura, Alfred Osei, Jordan Mintah, and Robert Lopez Mendy. (HGD)
