THE Philippines logged their second win in Group H of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup UAE 2019 qualifiers in a span of six days.

The Philippines, better known as The Azkals, beat Yemen, 2-0, yesterday dawn at the Qatar Sports Club Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Midfielder Misagh Bahadoran once again made his presence felt, scoring the opening goal yet again, in the 52nd minute.

Iain Ramsay, who made his second cap for the country, hit the clincher in the 74th minute, making his first international goal. He plays for Melbourne City in A-League in Australia.

Korea DPR, rated 146th in world, holds a slight grip at the top spot of Group H with six points, after defeating higher-ranked Uzbekistan, 4-2, in Pyongyang yesterday.

Philippines is at second with six points and is just behind Korea DPR on goals scored.

The Azkals will be up against No. 74 ranked Uzbekistan on Sept. 8.

The eight group stage winners and the four best runners-up will advance to AFC Asian Cup in 2019 and the final qualifying round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
