Zamboanga City joins Arbor Day

ALL is set for the observance of the Arbor Day on Sunday, June 25, in the city.

Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salzar said the Arbor Day activity will kick off at 7 a.m., which will be participated by thousands of people coming from the different sectors.

Salazar said it will be highlighted by the massive planting of trees at Sitio Canucutan at the Pasonanca Natural Park.

Some 3,000 tree seedlings of different species will be planted in over a hectare area at the designated planting site at the Pasonanca Natural Park, which is part of this city’s watershed.

The park covers an area of 12,107 hectares and a buffer zone of 5,307 hectares.

Salazar will lead the local observance of the Arbor Day, which will be participated thousands of people coming from the different sectors.
