5 drug suspects slain in Bulacan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Five drug personalities were killed in two separate police operations in Bulacan on Friday, June 23.

The fatalities were identified as Richard Galon, 37, and his two companions identified only as Botong and Dodo, all residents of Barangay Muzon, City of San Jose Del Monte; one Tan and a certain Jay, both of Barangay Tigbe, Norzagaray.

Galon, Botong and Dodo were killed after exchanging gunshots with policemen, said Superintendent Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police acting provincial director.

Recovered from them were a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .38 revolver, an improvised shot gun, and several sachets of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), said Caramat.

He said that Tan and Jay, who were on board a motorcycle, were flagged down by police officers manning a checkpoint in Barangay Tigbe. The duo reportedly tried to evade and fired their guns to the operatives.

The two suspects were killed after a brief firefight.

A caliber .38 revolver, a pen gun with bullets, a motorcycle and a sachet of shabu were seized from Tan and Jay. (Ric Sapnu)
