DEFENDING champions Convergys Converters opened their bid for the first grand slam with an easy 85-47 win over Telstra-Teletech Boomerangs in the Elite Class Division of the Tanduay Athletics-2017 CSCC E-League Basketball Tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym last Sunday.
Lourenz Limpangog scattered 21 points all from behind the 3-point area while back-to-back finals MVP Franz Dionne Dysam scored 17 to lead Convergys scorers.
Limpangog added four rebounds, a steal and a block to become the first Elite Classic player to win the Tanduay Best Player of the game.
Convergys rolled hot early to establish an 18-8 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back en route to scoring a 38-point win margin.
Jasper Diaz was the lone Telstra player to give Convergys defenders tough times as he delivered 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
