Firearms, ammos seized

SEVERAL firearms and live ammunition were seized in a raid conducted by personnel of Kabankalan City Police Station and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (Noppo-CIDG) at Purok Saging, Sitio Abtao, Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City Tuesday.

rThe operation, which also resulted to the arrest of farmer Benjamin Baliguat, 50, was made on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Dialinda Dominguez of Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Kabankalan City.

The operatives of Kabankalan City Police Station led by Superintendent Jacob Crisostomo and Noppo-CIDG led by Senior Inspector Ricardo Nebrija, swooped down the residence of Baliguat for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, police records show.

Police recovered from Baliguat’s possession were one 12GA homemade shotgun, nine live ammunition of 12GA shotgun, one .45 caliber, and 25 live ammunition of .45 caliber.

Also recovered were three magazines of .45 caliber, 18 live ammunition of .22 caliber, one .9mm caliber, two .9mm KG magazine, one KG-9 silencer, and one magazine of M14 riffle.(MAP)
