SeaWind units 98% sold

THE SeaWind condominium project of Damosa Land Inc. (DLI) in Sasa, Davao City, is now 98 percent sold with majority of the buyers being young professionals.

During the launching of SeaWind Tower 2 on February 28, DLI Vice President Cary Lagdameo said that out of the 165 units of their Tower 1, about 20 units have already been turned over and about half of that have residents that have moved in already.

According to Lagdameo, most of their buyers are around 25 to 45 years old who are young professionals primarily from Davao City. Some of the buyers are also employees of DLI themselves.

As for Tower 2, Lagdameo said they have practically finished with the construction and are only doing the final cleaning and polishing. In two weeks' time, they target to start slowly turn over the 166 units. By the end of March, they look forward to have had turned over 50 percent of the units in Tower 2.

"For Tower 3, we're already up to the second floor of construction. Roughly that's about 20 percent already. For Tower 4, we are starting the foundation work already. That's maybe about 15 months of work. So there's two towers already being constructed at the same time," he said, adding that they target to finish the third tower by January 2019.

Lagdameo said about 70 percent of the buyers are from Davao City, with the rest coming from the neighboring provinces in Davao Region.

He said they had been prioritizing selling to the buyers from Mindanao, particularly in Davao Region. There are also a good number of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have bought units in the condominium development.

"One of the main things [that have attracted them to the project] is that it's a project by Damosa Land. I think that's very important in the real estate industry - your name and your reputation. So I think first and foremost, it's because of the people behind the project. Next, I think the location. This is the first major residential project in Sasa. But as we can see, the development in Davao City are really moving towards this side of town. We have good proximity to Samal Island, the airport, there are a lot of commercial developments coming to this area, new schools," he said.
