Attack on Catmon Police Station a hoax

A POLICE official dismissed reports circulating in social media that New People’s Army (NPA) members attacked the Catmon Municipal Hall on Wednesday, June 28.

Senior Police Officer 2 Cresente Armamento of Catmon Police Station said there is no truth that NPA members attacked the Municipal Hall.

"Malinawon ra ang among lungsod (Our town is peaceful)," Armamento said in a phone interview.

"Unang nakahibawo akong mga kauban sa Facebook. Dili na tinuod (My colleague knew about it first on Facebook. It's not true)," he added.

He said they are tracing the identity of the Facebook user, who first circulated the fake news. (SunStar Cebu)
