BAC sets bidding for environmental, sanitary services

THE Bacolod City Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) is set to hold the bidding for the P72-million environmental and sanitary services or operation and management of landfill in Barangay Felisa on March 20.

Lawyer Allyn Luv Zamora-Dignadice, BAC vice chairman, said only the city's current garbage hauler, IPM-Construction and Development (IPM-CDC), joined the pre-bidding conference Tuesday, March 6, at the BAC Secretariat office in the Government Center.

The approved budget for the contract (ABC) of the nine-month operation and management of the landfill, which will start on April to December, is P72 million, she said.

She added the process will be conducted through open competitive bidding procedures using a non-discretionary "pass/fail" criterion as specified in the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 9184, or the Government Procurement Reform Act.

Last month, IPM-CDC was again named as a qualified bidder for the P148.5-million for garbage hauling and collection from April to December.

At present, the BAC members are conducting a post-qualification inspection at the IPM-CDC main office in Pasig.
