Passport list-up in Davao City extended anew

THE acceptance of valid documents from the applicants of the Passport on Wheels of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) slated March 16 and 17 in Davao City is extended until Friday, March 9, an official said.

Sharon Cuenca, one of the staff of the Davao City Administration's Office, said that as of Thursday morning, March 8, they have recorded more or less 1,700 clients who submitted their documents to avail themselves of the DFA program.

"We will probably continue until (today) because there are still many slots left," she said.

Cuenca said they aim to fill the 4,000 slots before they will turn over the documents to the DFA.

She said Thursday that they have continued catering documents of those who were able to register last March 7. She said they are still accepting more registrations.

The City Government of Davao has received thousands of applications from the interested applicants from residents from Davao City and neighboring towns.

The applicants submitted photocopies of necessary document for their passport application and renewal.

Based on a report from the City Information Office (CIO), Mary Resma of the City Administrator's Office, who was primarily in charge of the receiving of documents, said the requirements they received will still be sent to the DFA main office for verification purposes.

The documentary requirements are submitted prior to the scheduled dates as no walk-in applicants would be accepted during the conduct of the Passport on Wheels.

Resma said all applicants who have submitted requirements were given priority numbers and schedules of appointment.

On their scheduled date of appointment, applicants should bring their fully-accomplished application forms, the required original documents, P1,200 for the passport fee, and P150 as courier fee.

An additional P350 will also be collected from those who have lost or have expired passports. (With reports from CIO)
