ROTARY International (RI) District 3850 Governor Enigardo Legislador Jr. said the District Conference was among the best days of his life, citing the meaningful, fantastic and fruitful outcome of the conference held at L’ Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City on March 8 to 10.

It was a convergence of Rotarians coming from 51 clubs in 11 provinces in seven islands in the country.

“Thirteen committees were formed to deliver a fantastic district conference and I could say that this has been a very memorable three days, one of the best days of my life. We should all be proud that we have a cool, groovy Rotary International President Rep. Trevaskis and his wife Lady Sue who came here all the way from Australia. Thank you very much,” he said.

RI president representative director Noel Trevaskis congratulated Governor Legislador and his team for making the conference a huge success.

The three-day event included the opening rites where Legislador delivered the State of the District Address, and an Asian-themed Fellowship Night where Rotarians wore outfits of India, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, China and the Philippines.

On Day 2, plenary sessions were held with resource speakers, including

Bataan First District Rep. Geraldine Roman, who spoke about Gender Equality in Rotary; Immediate Past District Governor Mae Ann Alcordo-Solomon, “Her Story on Breast Cancer;” Past District Governor Jess Nicdao, TRF: The Joy of Giving; and Rear Admiral Joel Garcia, on Peace and Conflict Resolution; and Past President Ramon Dacayo on “Banish the ‘R’ word.”

The night was capped by the Governor’s Ball where male Rotarians came in their suits and the ladies, in their stunning gowns.

Day 3 was highlighted by the awarding of various accomplishments of Rotary clubs and their presidents.
