Aga-Lea 'romance', a publicity stunt?

COULD it be possible that the rekindling of the supposed "romance" between Aga Muhlach and Lea Salonga is just a publicity stunt?

Reports claiming that the 47-year-old actor considered the 46-year-old "Miss Saigon" lead star as the "one that got away" have been hugging the headlines recently. A clip of one of Lea's concerts showing off Aga with her onstage has likewise resurfaced.

With the undying "kilig" that their loveteam has been giving to fans, could it be possible that they are still hoping about their reunion? Could they be thinking about their idols telling each other "Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal" at "Sana Maulit Muli"? It can be recalled that these two movies of the on-screen duo had made them extra popular.

As fans appeared to be interested in rekindling the on-screen romance of Aga and Lea, reports have revealed that the former is set to star in another Star Cinema film.

Philippine Entertainment Portal reported that on June 27, the husband of Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1994 Charlene Gonzales joined the story conference for the upcoming Star Cinema project "Seven Sundays." He will be acting opposite Kapuso primetime king Dingdong Dantes, Cristine Reyes, Enrique Gil and Ronaldo Valdez in this new movie.

The family drama is Aga's first movie with the Kapamilya movie outfit in six years. His last project was "In the Name of Love" with Angel Locsin in 2011.

Meanwhile, excerpts of the 2013 book "Lea Salonga Playlist: A Celebration of 35 Years" also provided some tidbits of what Aga really felt for her former leading lady.

A separate PEP report disclosed that the "love letter" of the father-of-two, which was included in the book, stated that "Lea was the one that got away. And she never knew.” The former matinee idol further elaborated that "all the qualities he admires about Lea—her incomparable singing voice, strong work ethics, and straightforward nature."

"She never knew how much I loved her," he continued. "It was a lifetime ago, I was a young man on fire with passion, as all young men of a certain age are. I wooed fair ladies, and dreamed of shaping the world."

Aga has been married to Charlene since 2001, while Lea tied the knot with Chinese-Japanese IT company executive Robert Charles Chien in 2004.

With their fans' seemingly optimistic stance to see them together again, would Star Cinema consider a reunion movie for them soon? Let's wait and see.
