Richard Yap still wishes to work with Judy Ann Santos

RICHARD Yap is willing to wait for pregnant Judy Ann Santos once she's ready to resume taping for their supposed first television team-up.

In an interview with the Cebuano actor on Wednesday, Yap said he understands why their series, with working title "Someone to Watch over Me," was shelved because of Santos' pregnancy.

Santos is pregnant with her second child with husband Ryan Agoncillo.

Even though they've already taped the pilot episode of the program, he said that the entire production team's main concern was Santos and her unborn child's safety.

"That's understandable kasi buntis nga siya and her role requires her to do action. So naiintindihan namin na hindi talaga niya pwedeng gawin yun. We are happy that she's pregnant because that's something she really wanted. Hindi lang na-timing yung show namin so we just have to wait," Yap said.

"In a way, of course (nanghinayang), because everyone was ready to start the show already. But since it's for her health, naiintindihan namin yun. If after manganak niya and gusto pang i-mount ng ABS yung show, we are willing to do that," he added.

Dreamscape Entertainment, an ABS-CBN television unit which handles the said program, echoed Yap's statement.

"In support of her pregnancy, Judy Ann's first teamup with Richard Yap has been temporarily put on hold and will resume production once Judy Ann is ready to go back to work," Dreamscape said.

Dreamscape also announced that Yap will be doing a drama series, which will be revealed this month, and will star opposite Enchong Dee in “Wansapanataym Presents: My Kung Fu Chinito." (Sunnex)
