City admin, Cenro ordered to check firms sans permits

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio ordered the City Administrator and the Davao City Environment and Natural Resources offices (Cenro) to weed out business establishments operating without necessary legal documents.

The city mayor also said this is in addition to her order of a crackdown on illegal quarrying that poses danger to environment.

“Very recently nag-instruct ko sa City Administrator Office and sa City Environment and Natural Resources Office, number one against the massive illegal quarrying, mga business establishments operating without necessary permits and licenses,” Duterte-Carpio said in an interview during Parada Dabawenyo yesterday at Rizal Park, San Pedro Street.

Duterte-Carpio likewise shared that with the booming tourism industry in Marilog District, a private sector partner previously committed to pave portions of roads where tourists frequently visit.

“Nahuman ang commitment sa atoang private sector partner nga i-semento ang katong area nga daghan ug vacation resorts and our cultural village (The private sector has already committed to pave the area where a number of vacation resorts and our cultural village is located),” she said.

The road to be cemented is from the main road to Sitio Patag, which was identified as a tourism area for Marilog.
