A NIGHT of jazz and hors d’oeuvres dubbed “Kick Off the Monday Blues with Kate Torralba” was presented by El Camino Developers Cebu Inc., a five-company consortium behind 38 Park Avenue, and was held at the 38 Park Avenue showroom in Cebu IT Park last March 19. The event gave guests a chance not only to enjoy the music but also to check out the look of the soon-to-rise New York-inspired development.

38 Park Avenue presents an urban park concept that will highlight a high-rise residential condominium, office tower and retail boulevard with a green park called The Plaza, taking inspiration from Central Park, New York.

In keeping with the theme, seamstress-songstress Kate Torralba, fondly known to be the Philippines’ Petite Piano Princess, sang some songs that reminded her audience about the city that never sleeps including “Moon River,” used in the film “Breakfast At Tiffany’s.” She also sang covers like “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” “You Should Know by Now,” the Visayan song “Usahay” and two of her original compositions, “Drunk On Your Love” and “Pictures.”

As guests wined and dined while being serenaded by Kate Torralba, indeed they got a little taste of the Big Apple in Cebu.
