WHILE there were social media posts that complained about less action and more talk in Wonder Woman, the movie really did attract patronage. Evidence is that it was still showing as of last Wednesday.
It outlasted Tom Cruise’s The Mummy, which was also full of hair-raising scenes complete with jolting sound effects. Is it safe to say then that fantasy and horror entertainment packages are making a comeback after a series of romantic treats?
Just this week, Ang Pagsanib ni Leah dela Cruz opened in cinemas and has so far been patronized by moviegoers.
On July 12, a pack of young stars will elicit shrieks of fear and panic as Bloody Crayons will open in cinemas nationwide. Janella Salvador, Maris Racal, Elmo Magalona and Yves Flores are the leads of the Star Cinema offering for July.
Aside from the stars, Bloody Crayons reportedly boasts of spine-tingling scenes and effects.
After a few attempts, the Philippine representative to Asia’s Next Top Model has finally grabbed the plum which evaded her predecessors even if it was just a breath away.
Maureen Wroblewitz bested the other two finalists from Vietnam and Thailand.
Maureen was said to have expressed her desire to join show business when her reign as Asia’s Next Top Model ends next year. Interestingly, she has a striking resemblance to the latest Darna, Liza Soberano.
Or was that what my sleepy eyes revealed last Wednesday night when Maureen’s victory was announced? Come to think of it, almost every contest had been won by a Filipina.
This latest victory further proves the recognition that the Philippines is indeed a beauty powerhouse. Are there still international titles out there that have left Filipinas salivating over them?
