TWO men, including a former police officer, were caught in separate drug busts by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas in Cebu City on Thursday morning, June 29.
PDEA-Central Visayas Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz identified the police officer as Duane Salazar, a high-value target.
Salazar, 40, was caught in Salvador St., Barangay Labangon at 5:30 a.m.
Salazar was dismissed from service in 2005 after he went absent without filing an official leave.
Investigation showed he was a bodyguard and driver of slain drug lord Jeffrey "Jaguar" Diaz.
Six hours later, PDEA arrested Arthur Tañedo, 57, in another drug bust at Barangay Lorega-San Miguel.
Police seized from the suspects a total of 210 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," with an estimated market value of P634,000.
The suspects will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
